And eventually over the course of a couple of weeks, this, this gentleman actually started opening up and talking and that, that for me that, that example that I, you know, by me sharing my pain, me sharing my grief, and me being brave enough to, to open up and talk about it.

So the moment with the participant that stayed with me the most was actually the moment that made me decide to become a grief share leader. There was a gentleman in our program. Who, every time it came his turn to talk, he would just say pass, and you could see on his face and in his eyes that he just, there were things he needed to say, things he needed to get out. And he just didn't feel like it was his place to work. He didn't feel comfortable. I'm not really sure. But he, uh, he would just pass every time it came to his turn, and, and I had been doing a similar thing. And I realized I'm gonna give this guy an example. I'm going to, when it comes to my turn, I'm going to open up and I'm going to share. And I started talking and talking and talking and talking. And then the next time it came around to the, the gentleman's, um, gentleman's turn, he actually spoke, he actually talked for a minute or two. And when it came to my turn again, I did the same thing. I, I, I talked and talked and talked and talked. And eventually over the course of a couple of weeks, this, this gentleman actually started opening up and talking and that, that for me that, that example that I, you know, by me sharing my pain, me sharing my grief, and me being brave enough to, to open up and talk about it. Giving him permission to do that. It was, it's powerful. It's, it's really changed my life. For me, it was an interaction with another woman who lost her daughter. And I was explaining that when she was, my daughter was in the hospital, she was, you know, very sick, and I was praying to God that I wanted. Her to be, you know, for him to save her. Please save her. And I, and when I was telling her the story, she had responded that God did save her, just not the way that I wanted her to be saved, and that. I live with every day because I've realized that. I don't know the plan. And, you know, just what a beautiful response she gave me.
