I love my library because it's not just about books. It provides all kinds of media opportunities as well as access to parks, equipment to try new sports and even renting kayaks. I also enjoy the crafting classes. Ontario libraries are exceptional and of course Lambton County Libraries are the best. Thanks so much
I have loved libraries all my life, from going to the amazing book mobile to visiting several town libraries as I moved from one home to another, to my first job as a student to working at the check-out desk as a young mother. I love the different spaces, the variety of items available from magazines to read to snow shoes to 3D printers. Mostly I love the books, which helped me learn English, introduced me to many, many authors and people, helped me at my studies, and introduced me to peers over the last 59 years. I cannot imagine not having our libraries as they are one of our best resources and most enjoyable places.
Reading was my thing all through my school years and I often walked to the library in public school. I loved the days when my whole class would walk to the library and were lucky to be close enough to have these excursions. When I was in grade 7, I got a job at the Point Edward Library and worked there until I left for post secondary education. The facility holds a special place in my heart and I now get to take my grandkids to the library!
I love my library because some of the staff call me by name when I come in. If they don’t have a book I’m wanting they order it for me from another branch and notify me when it comes in. The staff are friendly and very helpful, even making book suggestions that they think I might like. The hours of operation are extensive. The space is kept clean and tidy.
I love my library because it was like a second home for my children when they were young. We attended the story hours, free movies and craft days. When my daughters grew up, it provided them both with steady part-time jobs to help pay for school in an environment where they were already super comfortable!
I love our library in Port Franks, because we have such a wonderful librarian. She is so caring and kind. She always greets us when we arrive and is always tremendously helpful and attentive. My grandchildren love doing crafts with her, and she always has such creative ideas.
I love visiting the Petrolia Library! The staff are friendly, helpful and kind. Whether I’m there to use the computers, making copies, accessing the seed program or just borrowing a book or two. I feel welcomed and relaxed while browsing the large selection of books.
Thank-you Petrolia Library Staff!
First of all Watford has one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries and the women who work there truly appreciate the libraries special nature. The librarians all work to assist, no matter how difficult the question or request! They welcome and assist whoever comes in and whatever the situation! I LOVE Watford's library!
I absolutely love our local library because it is so close to home and easy to walk to with the kids. During the winter, there are very few options for taking children out in the evenings, and the library provides such a wonderful, warm, and welcoming space for families.
It’s a great place for kids to explore books, enjoy LEGO, colouring, and computers for e-learning, while also making connections and friendships with other children. The books are easily accessible, and I truly appreciate having such a valuable resource in our community.
One suggestion I would love to share is to introduce more evening programs for children and families. Since many families are already out in the evenings for arena activities, having evening storytimes, reading clubs, or fun interactive activities would be a fantastic idea. It would give families another meaningful way to spend time together, especially during the colder months.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful space for our community. We truly appreciate it!
