Uh, so the story I was working on my work van one weekend and I heard my neighbor next door, she's got, uh, 33 pit bulls started screaming and it was one of those, she was actually screaming at one of her dogs.

What's up Bena Nation Christian here in North Carolina. Hey, I'm so excited to share with you my story about Berna and how it wasn't necessarily a self-defense for me, but for my neighbor and uh before I get to that, let me tell you what first drew me to Berna. Uh one just that we, we live in a nice area but probably like most areas, crime is on the rise. And so I wanted to have something that just in case I could defend myself, my family and my wife as well with the ease of the use of Burna could defend herself as well if I was not around. But at the same time, my wife was not comfortable with having a gun in the house. And so I was on a search for something that would be effective, uh would be reasonable in cost and something that she would feel comfortable to use. And so I came across Verna and it looks looks good. A lot of the reviews were really solid on it. I think one of the things that drew me most to it was the fact that that police officers and departments not only endorsed it but were using it. So I figured if it's good for them, it's probably good for us. So we got one, actually got two, SD add the booster. Uh, so the story I was working on my work van one weekend and I heard my neighbor next door, she's got, uh, 33 pit bulls started screaming and it was one of those, she was actually screaming at one of her dogs. It was one of those ones that, you know, she's not just yelling at them. It was much more desperate. And so I climbed up on the fence like 7 ft fence and looked over and one of her pit bulls had the other 11 of the other ones by the throat on the ground. And, uh, so I quickly ran to the van, grabbed my SD, ran around there had kinetic kinetic rounds in it and discharged two or three to the, to the pit bull that was attacking and she thankfully released the other dog and ran off to the other side of the yard. The, uh, my neighbor was able to get her dog that was wounded, took her to the vet, thankfully that dog survived is thriving doing well. And unfortunately, the other dog had to be, uh, sent away, not sure what happened, but, uh, hopefully live to play another day. Uh, but my neighbor was incredibly grateful and fortunately there was nothing fatal, but we were able to save one, maybe two dogs that day. So thanks to Britta, the SD, it was a good day.

I, I did have a concealed weapons permit so I understand I bought the burner, um, very clearly for my two daughters, um, and my wife and explained to them that with a burna instead of pulling it out and hoping that just the fact that you've got something that looks like a gun in your hand is going to make somebody leave or, um, exit the area or stop doing whatever they doing.

I love, I live in northern California. I have two daughters. Um, there have been a lot of smash and grab, uh, kind of thefts going on up in this Auburn area. It's just, uh, 30 miles, 40 miles west of or east of Sacramento. Both of them asked if I would, um, get them training and be able to buy, uh, pistols for each of them to protect themselves. And I explained to them, you know, if you have to pull a gun, a regular firearm to protect yourself, you be ready, you better be ready to kill somebody because they're going to take the gun away from you and kill you with it. And that most people, um, to my knowledge don't have that ability to pull an actual firearm out and pull the trigger. It's a very difficult thing to do. I'm ex-military. I'm very familiar with it. I, I did have a concealed weapons permit so I understand I bought the burner, um, very clearly for my two daughters, um, and my wife and explained to them that with a burna instead of pulling it out and hoping that just the fact that you've got something that looks like a gun in your hand is going to make somebody leave or, um, exit the area or stop doing whatever they doing. Uh, with a burner, you can pull it out and, uh, not be concerned you're gonna kill somebody, which means that you may be much more apt to use it, which is what you really need to do. And I load both of them with, uh, two polymer hard pellets in the first round of five and three gas pellets. You know, the max, which is gas and pepper spray behind the next three. And I told them, you know, pull it out, tell whoever it is is doing anything. Stop and then start shooting, ask questions later because you're not gonna kill them. And the first two rounds are polymer hard and if that doesn't stop them, put all three rounds of the pepper spray, um, CS gas on them. And that way you will have a tendency to not hesitate because my experience is if you pull a gun out and you hesitate, you, you're already lost, you can't do that. And if you're worried about killing somebody, you're gonna hesitate. I, I would guess probably 75 80% of the people that have a gun that pulls it out, uh, will hesitate before they pull the trigger knowing that you're gonna kill somebody. And of course you can't say, oh, well, I'm just gonna shoot him in the leg. It doesn't happen that way when, when you pull a gun and you pull the trigger, you, you, the adrenaline's running, you're gonna shoot center mass and you're gonna potentially kill somebody in this day and age. That is a very difficult position to be in. So the burnout takes away that liability and I, I appreciate it. A matter of fact, I'm getting ready to order another one so I can carry it around in my car instead of carrying around my Smith and Wesson nine millimeter.

Today's bad guys, they're basically getting their library cards suspended for things like robbery, burglary, home invasions.
Oh, some assaults and the police are handcuffed in how they have to uh provide their actions and their responses and what they have to do with these bad guys.
I've never had to use it yet, but I continue practicing.

My name is Tom Masters and I'm closer to 75 than 74 with AC WP in inquiring and checking statistics. If I had to use my weapon, I would probably be arrested and detained. I would have to bond out of jail. Then I would have to hire an attorney and in court court costs and face the possibility of a lawsuit just to maintain my innocence. That average cost in my findings is 50 to $60,000 at minimum. Today's bad guys, they're basically getting their library cards suspended for things like robbery, burglary, home invasions. I've been for about 30 years and currently I do pediatric critical care transport based out of Oakland, California. Uh in a typical shift. Me and my crew are driving around through the night on the streets of Oakland and surrounding cities and with our patient and their family frequently. Hi, Berna, my name is Brad Burford and I'm the proud owner of a Bena Sdle. Uh, I've had my, uh, Berna now for two years. Uh, in those two years, I've never had to actually draw until recently. Uh, I live here in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Uh, and my scenario was, was a little bit unique. Uh, we live in bear country and I happened to leave early for work one morning and we knew that there were bear in the neighborhood. Our, our neighbors talk. Uh, we try to look out for each other and, uh, lo and behold, I turned the corner around our garage to, uh, get into my vehicle for the day and approximately 20 yards away, I came face to face with our, our resident black bear, uh, that had been in the neighborhood. Uh, the animal tipped over our trash can and was rubbing through the trash and, uh, upon seeing me, uh, rather than retreating, it became very aggressive. Uh I did not have the ability to back up and, uh, what I was forced to do was draw my burner because it goes with me everywhere in my burna bag, which works fantastically and was able to get off a shot. Uh The first shot was the kinetic projectile. Uh It struck the animal just above the right ear, uh which did cause the animal to stop progressing forward. And the next two shots were the uh oc uh rounds. Uh Both of those made contact. The first one directly under the chin, the other one was, was almost directly between the, uh the, the top center of the ears. And uh it, it performed wonderfully. Uh the animals stopped immediately, uh immediately turned around and retreated. Um We did not have any issues with that animal since then. Um I thought it was a very unique scenario in which uh I never thought I would have to draw my burner, but I will say this. Uh Thank God I did uh the projectile launcher performed fantastically and you know, II I do consider myself lucky today. Uh That could have turned out so much worse had I not had my Bena. I live in a state where if I was to shoot somebody with a standard firearm, I'd probably be in just as much trouble as the perpetrator trying to hurt me. So I decided I need to have something to protect myself. So I did, the research came across Berna and it is now what I used uh to keep on me, at least uh for protection. Uh If I ever come across an instance where I enter a home that's vacant and maybe it has vagrants or homeless that have taken over it. I know I have the ability to defend and protect myself as well as maybe my clients who might be on site with me. So it was an easy decision. Hi, my name is Randy. I'm the pastor of a small church in California. And we had a Labor Day picnic event at our church. And um I got the full size burner target. I have a Lle launcher. And so I told people ahead of time, they could get a chance to, to uh shoot the launcher. And man, we had people lined up like 2030 people, even uh Children that got involved in experimenting. First of all, I'm absolutely stunned by how accurate the le is. Wow, you can hit. If you're even a little bit careful, you can hit the target from 40 ft away easily, right on the spot where you want to go. And um what was cool is that we had several people who are already interested in the burner launcher and by experimenting with it and actually shooting it, they got a good feel. Uh no kick, practically, no kick at all. Um, but I've also been, um, I've also been a victim of sexual assault and I know that even though I'm a boxer, even though I have the skills to put somebody down if I need to, I know that my reaction, my fight or flight reaction is actually freeze.

The reason that I received or that I got, um, that I bought the burnout was because, uh there was a girl that was murdered on the running trail, um, that I run the day after I ran it with my son and I'm a boxer. Um, but I've also been, um, I've also been a victim of sexual assault and I know that even though I'm a boxer, even though I have the skills to put somebody down if I need to, I know that my reaction, my fight or flight reaction is actually freeze. I don't know what to do. I've completely freeze in that moment. And in addition to that I Uber and I need to feel safe, I need to feel as if, if I freeze, there's something there that really doesn't require for me to take out my skill and use a whole bunch of mental capacity to, you know, figure out how to punch, how to, you know, stick it to him essentially. You know, all I need to know is where to point and it being less legal helps out a lot because one I'm a DACA student deferred action for childhood arrivals. So I'm not allowed to own a, uh, uh, an actual, um, weapon, natural gun. Um, but also two, it, it allows for me to know that even if I end up hitting somebody with it, yes, there's always that potential for, for lethality, but it allows for me to know that they're also going to be ok and they're gonna be able to be taken care of by the justice system and that's gonna put them away better than I ever could. Um So, yeah, thank you for the opportunity.
