I’m Climbing for Ostomy Awareness Day 🏔️
I’m climbing this mountain for Ostomy Awareness Day 2026 to support my ostomy friends and coworkers, and to explain what an ostomate is and why an ostomy bag is needed after conditions like colon cancer or Crohn’s and colitis. I’m reminding you that you’re not alone, with nearly a million ostomates in the U.S., UOAA chapters nationwide, and supportive wound care nurses and community. If you’re dealing with ostomy leaks, I’m pointing you to the Skinnier team for help with adhesion and getting back to leak-free living.

It's Ostomy Awareness Day 2026, and I'm climbing this mountain to help raise awareness for all of my Ostomy friends and coworkers out there. In a nutshell, an ostommate is someone who can't go to the bathroom normally. Due to conditions like colon cancer or Crohn's and colitis, surgeons sometimes have to remove or bypass a portion of your digestive system. When that happens, the surgeons create an opening in the belly area where waste connects the body and get collected in an ostomy bag like this one. Living with an ostomy has its challenges, but you're not alone. There are almost a million ostimates in the United States and UOAA chapters from coast to coast, incredible wound care nurses, and a whole community who understands what you're going through and is here to support you. And if you're having ostomy leaks, call the Skinnier team. We are experts in ostomy adhesion, and we can help you get back to leak-free living and whatever it is that you're passionate about.
